Refractive surgery (LASIK and Photorefractive Keratotomy)

Refractive surgery is the solution for those who are in their twenties to their sixties and don’t wish to wear glasses nor contact lenses. It is a short outpatient procedure.

Age Limit: Refractive surgery can be performed on patients aged 20 to 60 years of age.

Anesthesia: The procedures normally is not performed under general anesthesia unless the patient is extremely apprehensive.

Post Procedure:

1. Patient may resume normal activities the day after procedure.
2. Procedure usually requires regular antibiotic eyedrops for about a week.
3. Strenous activities and swimming should be avoided for the first 30 days.
4. This procedure results in a self-closing wound and is water tight after 30 days.
